In 2007, after years of producing tap jams and master classes in Boston and decades of performing and teaching, Julia Boynton wanted to create a celebratory, educational, tap lovefest for the New England tap community. A place, both in time and space, to celebrate and pay tribute to the art form with which we are all - let's face it - slightly obsessed.

Just as Boston is known as the "walkable" city, it is also the tappable city. It is that place where you can tap in your comfort zone and also push yourself to new horizons. Where people both enjoy and strive. Where that intimate, welcoming atmosphere makes you feel like you are dancing among friends, even if you don't yet know anyone in the room. (Trust us, soon you will.) And as the Beantown Tap Fest brings this community together, new ties will be forged and old ones strengthened.
